Foundations Part 1, formerly First Steps, is the first training to be completed as soon as a potential caregiver expresses an interest in what it means to provide kinship or foster care.  Foundations Part 1 training is to be completed prior to Foundations Part 2, classroom training. Foundations Part 1 includes four/five 90-minute sessions on the phone, or a day-long face-to-face session.  Caregivers  receive a workbook and a personal resource notebook to use during the class and beyond.  An instructor guides participants through each session.
