Join us as we reflect on the collaboration between our child welfare teams and judicial partners across the state and strategize together to increase the use of the SDM® Court Hearing Guide. Our key presenter will be Evident Change’s Director of Family & Community Engagement Strategies, Heather Meitner, who will discuss the importance of judicial leadership and the benefits of Structured Decision Making® to reducing custody rates and repeat maltreatment in Vermont.  We will hear about our colleagues’ successes, problem-solve challenges, and plan for continued implementation at the local level.

This year we are pleased to present two panels during the Summit: a judge panel, comprised of Family Court judges who will share insight into their decision making process and the ways in which Structured Decision Making informs their leadership; and a multi-disciplinary panel comprised of a GAL, Family Services Worker, Public Defender, Contract Attorney, and Deputy State’s Attorney, who will talk about how Structured Decision Making has impacted their roles and families they have worked with.

Panelists will be answering pre-determined questions as well as audience questions.  There will be opportunities to submit your questions in real time via mentimeter as well as handheld mics available for those who prefer to stand and voice their questions in person.  Audience participation is strongly welcomed, and we encourage you to think about what questions you might have for the judges and other panelists. We look forward to seeing you at the Summit and engaging in a robust exchange of ideas and experiences!
