What is coaching and how does it help with transfer of learning? Coaching for kinship, foster and adoptive caregivers is similar to coaching for an athletic team. It is an opportunity to re-look at skills learned, problem solve obstacles to using those skills, and practice using the skills, tools, and resources you’ve learned in trainings.

+ Addressing a child or youth’s behavior
+ Working well with birth parents and other family members
+ Respecting diversity
+ Working with teachers and other school personnel to support a child or youth
