What Do I Need Right Now?

Pausing for a moment, and asking yourself what you need, can be a powerful way to connect with yourself.

You might find that you need something as simple as taking a sip of water. Maybe a hug, or a plan to do something fun in the next few days.

Even when you’re in the middle of caring for a child or doing something else that needs your full attention, acknowledging your own needs—and knowing that you can address them when you’re able, can feel like having a friend there with you–bearing witness, lightening the load.
